Mrs. Tedeschi's Teaching Philosophy
My teaching philosophy is very similar to Ben Franklin's quote. Students will explore novels, short stories, poems, non-fiction, history, maps, pictures, videos, and so much more while learning. To involve students in learning, I believe in using project based learning and assessments. Students will work on projects both individually and as groups using their strengths to build their weaknesses throughout the year. When working with groups, students will collaborate to explore information, they will then share that information with the class.
Projects can look very different, such as:
Guiding questions to help guide through reading, with a big picture question at the end
Creating pictures or videos based on a novel or short story
Writing an essay or short story
Using evidence to create a diary/journal entry as a character or historical figure
The list is endless
I have a genuine love for teaching and I am always looking for new innovative strategies and ideas to motivate students.
