Dr. Landon Gray
Sparta R-III Superintendent
Dr. Landon Gray, Sparta Schools Superintendent, has been a southwest Missouri native for most of his life. Dr. Gray attended Missouri State University (MSU) and received his Bachelor's degree in Physical Education in 2003. He then became a graduate assistant at MSU as he worked on a Master's degree in Educational Administration, which he completed in 2006. He later began work on his Doctorate in Educational Leadership through Lindenwood University and earned this degree in 2016.
Dr. Gray began his teaching career as an elementary physical education teacher with Branson Schools. He later transitioned to Hollister Schools where he served as an assistant elementary principal for three years and head elementary principal for one year. He then transitioned back to Branson Schools where he served as an elementary principal for nine years. The superintendency has always been a goal for Dr. Gray and when the opportunity arose with Sparta Schools, he accepted and began his tenure in July of 2021.
Dr. Gray married his high school sweetheart, Amanda, in the summer of 2004. They have one daughter, Lily Dawn, who is the joy of their lives. As a family, they enjoy annual vacations to the Gulf Shores, Alabama area and spending time with family and friends.
