For Parents

Internet Safety

Cyber safety is an important parent-child discussion to revisit frequently with your child, from elementary school through high school. Experts warn that children are most vulnerable to online dangers while in their own home. While many potential dangers are filtered so students can’t access them at schools, parents sometimes forget that children may have direct access to inappropriate sites at home, through computers, tablets and cell phones. It is important to discuss these dangers with your child(ren) and set up some Technology Ground Rules.

Go to Common Sense Media to find out more about what you can do to help with Privacy and Internet Safety concerns with your child(ren).

You may also visit Google's Safety Center to learn how you can make online safety choices that fit your family.
