How are students enrolled in school?
Kindergarteners must be five years of age on or before August 31 for enrollment. Advance notice of kindergarten registration is announced in the local news media as well as on the Southern Tioga School District and social media.
Transfer students from other school districts should present a transfer card/report card and an immunization card from the former school district prior to admission to a classroom. As soon as records are received, the parents and teachers should meet to discuss the child. This is done to better acquaint the teacher and the student which will result in a smoother transition.
Registration for transfer students should be done as soon as possible at the District Office.
How are students withdrawn from school?
Students moving from the district should notify their classroom teacher and building secretary as soon as possible. Testing data and other information maintained by the school will be mailed to the student’s new school when a request is received from that school. All materials issued to the student during the school year will need to be returned prior to the withdrawal.
