Volunteer Training

Dear South Boise Little League Volunteers,

We hope you are excited as we eagerly anticipate the upcoming season at South Boise Little League. As we gear up for another exciting year of youth sports, we would like to express our sincere gratitude for your commitment to fostering a positive and safe environment for our young athletes.

To ensure the well-being of all participants and to be in compliance with Little League International rules there are mandatory training requirements for our valued volunteers. These trainings are designed to equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge to create a safe and enjoyable experience for the players.

**1. Background Check:** (required annually)

All volunteers, including coaches, are required to undergo a thorough background check. This step is crucial in maintaining the highest standards of safety and security for our league.

**2. Abuse Awareness for Adults:** (required annually)

In order to create a supportive and respectful environment, it is mandatory for every volunteer to complete abuse awareness training for adults. This training will empower you to recognize and respond appropriately to any signs of abuse.

**3. HEADS UP to Youth Sports: Online Training (Concussion):** (required annually)

Coaches, in particular, are required to complete the HEADS UP to Youth Sports online training for concussions. This training will equip you with the knowledge to identify and manage concussions, ensuring the well-being of our young athletes.

**4. Basic First Aid:** (required annually)

Coaches must also complete basic first aid training. This essential skillset will enable you to respond effectively to minor injuries or emergencies that may occur during practices or games.

We understand that your time is valuable, and we appreciate your dedication to the safety and development of our players. Please note that compliance with these training requirements is mandatory for all volunteers, and they must be complete before the start of the season.
