Renuka Devi

Principal

Dear Parents,

I hope this newsletter finds you in good health and spirits.

Here we are with some of the exciting events and achievements that have taken place at our school this month.

Overall, it has been a very successful month at our school. I am grateful to the students, staff, and parents for their hard work and dedication.

Thank you for your continued support.

Inquiry-Based Science Education

Children in the 21st century are growing up in a world facing complex global issues.  They will need to deal with the impacts of climate change, mass human migration to urban environments and health threats including obesity, chronic disease and emerging infectious diseases.

Scientific literacy and critical thinking will help them understand such issues and support their future efforts to address these enormous societal challenges.  Providing adequate science education to children enables them to learn how to reason logically and enables their growth as future active citizens.

I am extremely delighted to share with our readers that the school has introduced inquiry-based science education to our 21st-century learners to focus on building reasoning skills early in life.  IBL takes a more student-centric approach to teaching and puts the focus on questions and problem-solving. Students learn through reasoning, doing through asking questions, carrying out experiments, weighing up evidence and considering alternative hypothesis.

The science topics taught in classes from grade 1 to grade 8 through the IBL method witnessed high engagement of students, joy in finding the solution, and increased level of curiosity and teamwork. Teachers are trained by Ms. Elsie Thomas. Sr. Consultant at EDU –TTASC Teachers Training and School Consultant to deliver the pedagogy. They are trained continuously to implement IBL effectively and successfully.  In the future, many more topics will be delivered using the approach.

Fueling Your Success: The Power of Nutritious Food for Students

As students, your life is a whirlwind of classes, assignments, exams, and extracurricular activities. Amid this busy schedule, it's easy to overlook one of the most crucial aspects of your daily routine—what you eat. The food you consume plays a pivotal role in your energy levels, concentration, and overall well-being. So, let's talk about the importance of nutritious food and why it should be a top priority in your life.

1. Boost Your Brainpower:

Your brain is like a supercomputer, and it needs the right fuel to function at its best. Nutrient-dense foods rich in vitamins and minerals can enhance your cognitive abilities, improve memory, and help you stay focused. Foods like berries, nuts, leafy greens, and whole grains are your brain's best friends.

2. Sustained Energy:

Nutrient-rich meals provide you with a steady supply of energy throughout the day. Skip the sugary snacks and opt for complex carbohydrates, lean proteins, and healthy fats. These foods release energy slowly, preventing those dreaded mid-afternoon slumps.

3. A Resilient Immune System:

Vitamins, antioxidants, and minerals found in fruits and vegetables can help your immune system fight off infections, reducing sick days and keeping you at your best.

4. Better Mood and Stress Management:

Ever heard of the phrase "you are what you eat"? Well, it's not far from the truth. Nutrient-rich foods can have a positive impact on your mood and stress levels. Omega-3 fatty acids, found in fish, walnuts, and flaxseeds, can help reduce anxiety and depression.

5. Healthy Habits for Life:

The choices you make now about what you eat can set the stage for your future health. Developing healthy eating habits as a student can carry over into adulthood, reducing the risk of chronic diseases like diabetes and heart problems.

6. A Balanced Life:

Balanced nutrition isn't about depriving yourself of your favorite foods; it's about moderation and variety. Enjoy your pizza or burger occasionally, but also make room for fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains. A balanced diet is not only nutritious but also delicious.

7. Stay Fit and Active:

Nutritious food is the foundation for an active lifestyle. It provides the energy and nutrients your body needs to stay fit, build muscle, and recover from exercise. Whether you're into sports or just enjoy staying active, a healthy diet is your best ally.

8. Life-Long Learning:

Cultivating healthy eating habits during your student years is an investment in your future. The habits you form now can carry over into adulthood, decreasing the risk of health issues.

In conclusion, what you eat isn't just about satisfying your taste buds; it's about fueling your success. A diet rich in nutritious foods can help you excel in your studies, stay healthy, and feel your best. So, make smart food choices and consciously try to incorporate a variety of wholesome foods into your daily routine. Your body and mind will thank you, and your future self will too. Remember, you're not just eating for today, but for a lifetime of health and achievement.

THE INKWELL

WAR -NEVER-ENDING MAZE

He stood there, fazed, on his knees,

Amidst thousands of non-living piles of bodies

Stared down at his broken toe

Flinched as the blood dripped into his eye

Shut his ears close, as the devil in his head screamed “You are a stone hearted devil”

Squeaked as he tore apart the dead skin off his scars

Screamed so hard, so loud, yet not a bird winced

There he stood up, walked towards his throne, fierce fully.

His heart fell off a cliff as he inhaled the whole world’s air,

A smile dragged by itself onto his face.

He rejoiced, lifting his chin up, as the voice in his heart reassuringly whispered “You did it”

As he imagined the happy life about to start.

Glared ahead at his perfectly imperfect kingdom,

And then looked back at the bloodshed

Realising the never-ending maze, he’d been through all along

Whispers of the heart weren’t so sure anymore...

Fates Entwined

 Once upon a time,

When there wasn’t penny or dime.

There lived a fearless prince,

Who hadn’t been elated since.

For hi past wasn’t so bright,

On that one gloomy night,

His brother was taken away

And was totally out of sight.

Prince was called for a war

When he was already sore

He didn’t want to fight one,

But obliged as the country’s son

He marched to the battlefield,

With his armour, sword and shield.

Was to fight the other side,

But it wasn’t a smooth ride

Both were vast like a tide,

Wishing to kill the other side.

All they fought for was there land,

Of their holy motherland

Their soil was of great price,

More than of pounds of wheat or rice.

Why was it that for this thing?

There was fight between the kings?

Their soil wasn’t ordinary,

Nor was it temporary.

Could be moulded into anything,

And would always impress the kings.

So the artisans gathered it,

And with their expertise and skills.

Turned it into pieces of art,

That always stole the royal family’s heart.

So the bloody war starts,

In the mid of month of June.

Just by the looks of it,

It wasn’t gonna end soon

The prince had a vivid dream,

On the dusk of the first day.

An elf told him that,

He will lose a loved one by the ugly war’s way.

So they fought and fought and fought,

The result of which no one had thought.

The lionhearted was a pioneer,

In ending the hopes of the rival’s side

The valorous prince killed,

The chief of the opponent’s side.

And secured the victory,

With his strong will and might.

But when the prince saw his body,

Nostalgia struck him fast.

A birthmark on his thigh,

Made him remember his old past

He had killed his brother,

For which he was sore.

But the dream was true,

He lost a loved one by the war.

Valorous prince couldn’t bear this pain,

That poured on him like endless rain.

He had lost his brother,

For the sake of his motherland.

He had for sure won the battle,

But at what cost?

At the cost of his younger brother,

Who wasn’t always long lost.
