Dear Parents,
Gratitude and Thanks
As 2024 comes to a close, I want to take this opportunity to express my thanks to our parent community and, in particular, our Parents & Friends for their unwavering support throughout the year. Your commitment and generosity have made a significant difference to our school, and I am deeply grateful. I would also like to extend my gratitude to Steph and Clare for their easy going support and hard work. Together, you’ve helped lay the foundation for what will undoubtedly be another successful P & F year ahead. As we look toward Term One of 2025, plans are already in motion. Events like Welcome BBQ, Pancake Tuesday, the Hot Cross Bun Drive, and the Easter Raffle will keep our new team busy, and I am excited to see the creativity and energy they will continue to bring to these cherished traditions.
I also want to thank our incredible staff for their unwavering dedication, professionalism, and creativity. Their commitment to the teaching, learning, and wellbeing of our students has been exemplary.
At St Oliver’s, the child remains at the heart of everything we do. Every decision we make is grounded in what is best for their learning, wellbeing, and safety. I thank our students for their enthusiasm, resilience, and joy – they inspire us every day and remind us why our work is so meaningful.
Looking ahead, 2025 promises to be an exciting year as we deepen our commitment to high-performance practices and begin preparing for our school review in 2026, next year marks the third year of our school improvement cycle. Together, we will continue to live out our vision and strive for excellence in all aspects of school life.
I wish you all a blessed and holy Christmas filled with joy, peace, and precious moments with your loved ones. I look forward to continuing this journey with you in 2025.

As we head into the Christmas break I would like to wish you a blessed holiday season and a joyful, Happy New Year. I look forward to your return in the New Year, where we will continue to build positive relationships, nurture goals, and celebrate our many unique gifts in the 2025 school year.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

On behalf of the team at Helping Hands I want to say a big thank you to everybody at the school who was involved in collecting toys for our Christmas Cave program.
We run our Christmas Cave program every year to support families who are doing it tough over the holidays. This year we set up a portable at our McIntosh Street like a mini toy shop, where families facing financial hardship could come to choose gifts – brand new, in their box – to help give their children a “normal” festive season. We don’t wrap any of the gifts, because we believe it’s important that parents are able to choose the presents they know their children will love.
The toys that the St Oliver Plunkett community collected for us went directly to our Christmas Cave, and we’re sure that they’re going to bring joy to so many families this Christmas!
I’ve attached a Certificate of Appreciation to say thank you to everyone at St Oliver Plunkett for their support, as well as a page of feedback from a few of the parents that have been through the Christmas Cave to choose presents so far. Thank you again! We hope you know how big of an impact your donation has made for families in need this Christmas.
Kind regards,
Maddie Kent

Thank You to Our Canteen Coordinator
A big thank you to Julie Saliba, who has served as our Canteen Coordinator for the past two years! Julie has done a fantastic job ensuring the canteen is always stocked and ready to go with treats for our children.
From sourcing items like smoozes, vege chips, tiddy teddies and popcorn to keeping the stock well-organised and replenished as needed, Julie has played an important role in supporting our school community. Her efforts behind the scenes have ensured our students enjoy a smooth-running window sales service, and we are so grateful for her time and dedication.
As Julie steps back from this role, we thank her for her valuable contribution. It is now time to pass the baton to the next person- a great way to volunteer if seeking flexibility. Job shares are also welcome!
