Grading Policy

We follow a percentage based grading system.  Each assignment or activity is allotted a point value which contributes to the overall percentage for each category.   Assessments and Performance Tasks will carry more weight toward their grade.

Check-ins (30%) not eligible for retakes. Done in class and exempt if absent.  Feedback will be given to help prepare for the topic quiz

Quizzes (50%) turned in after the deadline will be reduced in grade by 10% and must be turned in before the end of the unit they were assigned in.

Summative assessments (20%) (i.e., projects) turned in late will be reduced by 10% if turned in within 5 days of the original due date.  Summative assessments turned in after 5 days late will be subject to a 30% reduction in credit and will not be accepted past the end of the trimester.

Retake Policy

Formative assessments can be made up any time the student requests as long as all work leading up to that assessment is completed.  Retake/corrections must be completed within 5 school days. No reflection form required for formative.

1 summative assessment per trimester with reflection form completed as long as all work leading up to that assessment is completed.

All assessments must be retaken before the end of the unit and on a “FLEX” day in class.  

Students must submit a fully completed Test Corrections worksheet approved by the teacher before taking a retake.
