Jazz Choir State Group, HS Play Performers, Jamison Grimm and Ashley Hummel for qualifying for the National Leadership Conference (which is in Atlanta, GA this year). There were 750 in attendance at the State Leadership Conference this year and even after seeking shelter in a storage room for 45 minutes (half without power), their spirits remained high. Jamison and Ashley (team event) - Entrepreneurship, 2nd place, Jamison and Ashley (team event) - Sales Presentation, 4th place, Jamison - Organizational Leadership, 4th place, Ashley - Business Law, 8th place.  Empty Bowls:  breaks $3,000.00 in donations  Becky West: Nutrition Director finalist for Iowa Healthiest State Iniatiative Award. Alpha Club is the youngest version of the Optimist Club.  Solon's Alpha Club at SIS was the second chapter in the state to form and is currently the largest chapter in the state.  On Monday night, Apr. 17, the SIS Alpha Cub, led by Sami McAtee, hosted a Bingo Night fundraiser to raise awareness of Cystic Fibrosis.  We honored on our own students, Ellis Hagerty, who lives with CF.  Her parents came and shared her story as well.  We had nearly 100 in attendance and raised just over $725 for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation!
