Handling of personal property
SISとOISの2つの学校では、毎学期何百件もの落し物がオフィスに届きます。傘、水筒、弁当箱、携帯電話、パソコン、上着、靴、ボール....。届けられた落とし物はすべて一つひとつ写真を撮って記録し、保護者、生徒、教職員のみなさんに共有して、落とし主に返却できるように努めています。 しかし、残念ながら、こうした努力にもかかわらず、大半が持ち主のもとに戻ることはなく、保管した取得物の約70％は大阪府警の規定に従って処分されているのが現状です。
落とし物の問題を解決するために、まずはコミュニティのすべてのみなさんに、ご自分の持ち物をできるだけ大切に扱い、物をなくさないようにすることをお願いしています。とはいえ、万が一持ち物を紛失された場合は、できるだけ早くお返しできるようにしたいと考えています。
2024年春学期から、みなさんがより上手に物を管理することができるような新たな試みを開始します。
SOISタグによる所持品の保護
Every term our two schools get hundreds of items submitted to the office as lost property. Umbrellas, water bottles, bento boxes, phones, computers, jackets, shoes, balls, …. We record every item that we take into our lost property store, photograph and share them with the community in an effort to return them. Unfortunately, despite these efforts a majority of items never make it back to their owners and about 70% of stored items are disposed of following regulations provided to us by Osaka prefectural police.
To help us solve the problem we have with lost property, we ask all members of our community to avoid losing things by being as careful as we can with personal belongings. With that said, If things are lost we want to be able to return items as soon as we can.
From the spring term of 2024 we will begin a trial to try and help our community be better in keeping track of our things.
Protection of personal belongings with SOIS-tags
まずは自分の持ち物に名前を書くこと、これは持ち物管理の基本です。できる限りそうしていただくようにお願いします（生徒IDはもちろん大丈夫です）。ただし、物によっては、これが必ずしも簡単で適切であるとは限りません。 そこで、個人情報を他者に漏らすことなく、簡単に自分の持ち物にラベルを貼る新しいシステムを導入し、同時に（たとえ学外での紛失であっても）物を持ち主に返却できる可能性を高めます。
Writing names on things has been the traditional way of trying to keep a track on your belongings. Please do this if you can, or use your student ID. For some items, this might not always be easy or appropriate. We are introducing a new system that will make it easy to label things without divulging personal information at the same time as making it much more likely that something can be returned to its owner (even if something is lost outside of the campus).
ご家庭および生徒の皆様へ：持ち物ラベルの貼り方について
持ち物には、以下のいずれかの方法でラベルを貼ってください：
ネームラベル - 本、筆箱、弁当箱、水筒など（名前、生徒ID)
SOISタグ - 財布、携帯電話、イヤホンケース、傘、上着、バッグ、弁当箱、水筒、靴、上着など。ある程度の耐久性はありますが、防水テープで保護すると水洗いや洗濯が可能になります。
GPSタグ（Apple Airtag、Eufy、Tileなど） - バッグ、家の鍵、貴重品（SOISタグも付けておくと、事務室に届けられたらすぐにお返しできます）。
学校で日常的に使うものにはタグをつけてください。 バッグ、お弁当箱、傘、筆箱、水筒、財布、上着、手袋や帽子の様に頻繁に着たり脱いだりする衣類などです。 タグがあればあるほど、届けられた時に返却できる可能性が高くなります。
SOISタグの仕組み
生徒一人ひとりに20枚のQRコードシールを配布します。誰かが落し物を発見し、QRコードをスキャンすると、発見者に千里キャンパスの事務室に届けるようメッセージが表示されます。事務室では、タグの付いた落とし物をスキャンすると、QRコードに記録されたデータから、誰のタグかわかる仕組みになっており、落とし主に連絡をして返却することができます。タグの持ち主の特定は、事務室でしかできません。従って、たとえ第三者がQRコードを読み取ったとしても個人情報が表示されることはありません。シールが足りない場合は、事務室で追加購入してください（または、無料で配布される20枚のセットをコピーして透明テープなどで貼り付けてください。縮小コピーは可能です。60％まで確認されていますので小物（ペンなど）に貼ることもできます）。
GPSタグ
Apple、Eufy、Tileなどの追跡タグは、紛失した際に物理的な位置が確認できるため、貴重品の保護におすすめです。 これに加えてSOIStagを付けておくことで、貴重品の持ち主を素早く特定し、お返しすることができますので、おすすめです。
Instructions for families and students on labelling personal belongings
Please label your personal belongings in one of the following ways:
Name label - books, pencil cases, bento boxes, water bottles, etc
(name and/or student ID).SOIS-tag - wallets, phones, earphone cases, umbrellas, jackets, bags, bento boxes, water bottles, shoes, jackets, etc. The stickers are quite durable, but if protected with waterproof tape they can be washed in water or machine washed.
GPS-tags (Apple Airtag, Eufy, Tile, etc) - bags, house keys, valuable items (it is a good idea to SOIS-tag these as well, so that if they are handed in we can get them back to you quickly).
Please tag all items that are frequently brought to school. These might include, bags, bento boxes, umbrellas, pencil cases, water bottles, wallets, as well as often worn and taken off items of clothing such as jackets, gloves, hats, etc. The more that is tagged, the higher the chance we’ll be able to return things that are handed in.
SOIS-tag, how it works
Each student will be issued a set of 20 unique QR code stickers to label personal items. If someone finds a lost item and they scan the QR code, this will display a message for the finder to take it to the campus business office. If we get a tagged item in the business office, from the data encoded in the QR code we will know whose tag it is and so can contact and return the item. Only the school office can make the connection between the owner and the tag, so personal information cannot be discovered from a third party scan of the QR code. If you need more stickers you can purchase them from the business office (or photocopy the free set you are given and stick on with clear tape, etc. Reduced size copies down to 60% have been checked, so you can also stick them on small items (pens,etc)).
GPS tagging
We recommend tracking tags from Apple, Eufy, Tile, etc for protecting valuable items as you’ll be able to see their physical location if you lose them. For extra peace of mind, putting a SOIStag on these will, of course, let us quickly identify your valuables and get them back to you.
