Students will take a Virtual Field Trip to a Dinosaur Museum. First they will be asked to complete a K-W-L. During that time they will watch a video, complete a scavenger hunt, and answer some factual questions. This will get their brains going to this week’s writing prompt.
Today you will work through the Google Slide below. This will review solving equations with a missing number. You will also be introduced to balancing equations for addition. In the slide show you will watch a video that will help you practice or learn how to balance equations. Parents please know that the students often struggle on balancing equations. Any extra help or practice you can offer would be wonderful!
Students will complete the graded page for Math today. It is an assessment of last week's skills.
Today we listen to a read aloud story called “Grace for President”. Listen for all the ways Grace thinks she will be a good leader. Then we will watch a video about “Why We Vote”. This gives us some great information about why the voting process is so important. Finally, please complete the Google slides on “Who can Be President” and on the political parties. Read the information and then answer the questions on the following slides.
Tuesday and Wednesday are tied together in one Google Slides. Please pay close attention to the STOP sign. This will tell you where you need to stop for the day to keep you on track.
You will think back to the virtual field trip you took on Monday. Students will be asked to think about their favorite fact they learned and draw a picture to go with it. Please use the Draw website attached to the canvas. When you are finished drawing your picture, insert a copy or photo of your picture in the next slide. When students finish their drawing they will be asked to write down what their fact is that goes with their illustration.
After that students are asked to write what was their favorite part of the virtual field trip. Students will need to complete the graphic organizer. They will start with their topic sentence, provide three supporting details about their topic sentence, and add a closing sentence.

Students will need their examples for their live lesson on Thursday. We will be discussing the different measurements tomorrow.
When students finish their scavenger hunt, they should play any of the work places listed at the end of the lesson. Click on one of the links at the end of the Google Slides and play with a friend or family member.
Students will use the graphic organizer they completed yesterday to help them write a rough draft. They will take the same ideas to compose their paragraph. This should include the use of an indent, capitalization, and punctuation. Tomorrow they will be asked to edit their work.
Today we will watch a video on Primaries and Caucuses so we can learn more about them! Then we will complete the Google slides on “Who can Vote?”. Read the information and then answer the questions on the following slides.
