November construction focused on completing the structural steel and exterior metal studs. The steel erectors were also able to set the steel joists that will receive the metal roof deck. The concrete crew also completed the parking lot sidewalks. On November 13th and 14th the students got their hands messy with colorful paint to leave their handprints on the final beam of their school's new addition.
October work was primarily focused on completing the new building pad. The under slab plumbing & electrical rough-ins were completed. The masonry crew arrived and completed the concrete block wall at where the existing building will tie into the addition. Following that work the steel erectors mobilized onsite and began setting steel columns. Then the concrete building slab was poured. The concrete crew also completed the parking lot curbs and islands.
The month of September was busy with sitework and getting the building pad ready. We placed the rock base where the new parking lot and entrance will be. The building addition footprint was brought to grade. Engineered piers were bored out and filled with aggregate. The concrete subcontractor mobilized onsite and began excavating the footings and placing rebar.
On August 7th S.M. Wilson coordinated a ground breaking ceremony. We appreciate the warm welcome, and we want you to stay tuned... Big changes are already starting! Our crews mobilized to the site in Mid-August and set the construction fence. We began excavating & grading which included removing the Southwest existing playground. We are continuing to install new site utilities. A temporary sidewalk was also added so students have a safe path to the existing Northwest playground.
