CROSS-COUNTRY

Description: All boys and girls interested may come out for Cross-Country. We have a Varsity, Junior Varsity and C Teams.

Requirements: All prospective student-athletes must have their paperwork turned into the athletic office prior to the first practice. Summer running is essential in preparation for the season. Summer Camp link will give you more information on summer conditioning, or see Coach Stigge.

Practices and Competitions: Practice is daily, Monday-Friday (with some Saturday), after school at 3:00 p.m. Most meets are run on Saturday mornings and completed by midday. This is a non-tryout sport, and all are encouraged to attend with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Description: Our football team consists of of Varsity, Junior Varsity and Freshmen Teams. We encourage, and have high expectations that potential players enroll in our weightlifting courses (schedule permitting) and also attend before school conditioning opportunities in the offseason. Summer conditioning and camps are also available for a small fee.

Requirements: All prospective student-athletes must have their paperwork turned into the athletic office prior to the first practice.

Practices and Competitions: Practice is daily, Monday-Friday (with some Saturday practice and/or film sessions). Practices are normally after school, 3:00 p.m, unless otherwise designated. Specific practice times are set by coaches at various levels of the program. Varsity games are on normally on Friday evening, with some competitions being played on Thursday. Junior Varsity games are played on Monday (with some Saturday contests when Varsity plays on Thursday), and freshmen games are on Wednesday or Thursday.

GOLF--Girls

Coach: Aaron Sayers

Description: In recent past SMNW has maintained a Varsity and Junior Varsity level golf teams. The golf team competes against local and state schools at area courses. The varsity has State Competition at the end of the season, which they must qualify for as a team and/or individuals.

Requirements: All prospective student-athletes must have their paperwork turned into the athletic office prior to the first practice.

Practices and Competitions: The season lasts from August to October. Practice times are after school at local courses. The schedule times and locations are set by the coach prior to the start of the season.

GYMNASTICS

Coach: Jessie Rood

Description: Gymnastics is a sport for girls at the Varsity and Junior Varsity level, competing in meets and invitationals in local and state competition.

Requirements: All prospective student-athletes must have their paperwork turned into the athletic office prior to the first practice.

Practices and Competitions: Gymnastics team holds practices after school Monday-Friday (with some Saturday practices). Most meets are done during the week, with invitationals hosted throughout day long events on Saturday. A summer camp is available, with information shared on the Summer Camp Link.

SOCCER--BOYS

Description: Boys soccer team consists of of Varsity, Junior Varsity and C-Teams. These teams compete in a 16 game regular season schedule. We encourage, and have high expectations that potential players enroll in our weightlifting courses (schedule permitting). Summer conditioning and camps are also available for a small fee.

TENNIS--GIRLS

VOLLEYBALL

Description: Our volleyballl team consists of of Varsity, Junior Varsity, Sophomore and Freshmen Teams. We encourage, and have high expectations that potential players enroll in our weightlifting courses (schedule permitting) and also attend before school conditioning opportunities in the offseason. Summer conditioning and camps are also available for a small fee.

Sophomore and Freshmen games normally are on Monday and Wednesday, with weekend tournaments on Saturday. Games will deviate and schedules are posted prior to the start of the season, and updated as needed.
