Eligibility
Students interested in taking classes at JCCC during the school year have the opportunity to drop SMS class hours to accommodate these opportunities.
Students must be in good standing, with room in their schedule to accommodate requests.
Conversation starts with Ms. Johnson in counseling prior to signing up to make sure the schedule will work.
Attendance Requirement
To verify attendance requirements for the State of Kansas, students must keep a log of classroom attendance until October 4. Please return signed attendance forms to the student's academic counselor.

All classes on the transcript will come back as elective credit
Students are responsible for sending the transcript from JCCC to SMS
Excel in CTE Courses at JCCC (Free Tuition)
This bill authorizes JCCC to waive the cost of tuition for high school students who meet JCCC Kansas residency requirements for enrollment in any tiered career technical course.
The Kansas State Senate passed Excel in CTE (formerly known as SB 155) in May 2012.
Textbook, program fees and any other additional fees may apply.
To identify a course that qualifies for Excel in CTE:
Click on the Continue to Credit Class Schedule Button, Browse Classes, and select a term (e.g. Credit Fall 2025).
Use the "Advanced Search" link.
Click in the "Attribute" field and choose "Excel in CTE (SB 155)."
