“Uzziah himself was eager to leave the temple…,”

The Proverbs tell us: “Pride goes before the fall.” The readings in church this week deal with the subject of pride.

2 Chronicles 26:16-23 has otherwise good King Uzziah proudly arrogating to himself the privilege of serving as priest—a labor entrusted only to the descendants of Aaron. As a result of his transgression, Uzziah loses his health to leprosy, and he essentially loses the throne, as well.

So: Don’t make yourself into your own god! Don’t proudly fail to confess your transgressions!—besides confessing your Savior Jesus Christ. Get to church this week!

Services take place at 7 PM, Wednesday, October 17th, 6 PM, Saturday, October 20th, and 7:30, 9:00, & 10:45 AM on Sunday, October 21st.
