All Music students will need a 1' Binder to keep their music and book in for class. This is a requirement for all Junior High Music Students

The Smithville Junior High Band uses the Time for Band Book as our begining band text book. You can purchase one by contacting the book provider below via email or phone. Please let them know what instrument you need when ordering the book.

Congrats on playing Flute! Below are suggested brands and Supplies that you will need to keep your flute working well throughout the year.
Suggested Brands: Yamaha, Jupiter Gemeinhardt, Pearl, Armstrong, Selmer
Accessories: Flute Cleaning Rod and Polishing Cloth

Congrats on playing Clarinet! Below are suggested brands and Supplies that you will need to keep your clarinet working well throughout the year.
Suggested Brands: Jupiter, Yamaha, Selmer, Buffet, Noblet, Vito
Accessories: Cleaning Swab, Cork Grease
Reeds: Clarinets need reeds in order to play.
It is the responsibility of the student to have enough reeds on hand to be successful in class.
Students should have at least 4 reeds with them all the time in case they get chipped or broken.

There are some instruments that we do not start beginners on. It could be because it would just be to difficult, we dont have enough instruments for beginners or both.
These instruments are what students COULD have the option to switch to once they have progressed enough on their first instrument. Some students may even be able to switch back and forth depending on the skill of the studnet and quality of the instrument.
