COVID-19 REOPENING PLAN
Policies and Procedures may differ from other years and continue to change as the school year evolves. We are trying to take extra preconditions for the health of our students and staff.
Students will visit the library once a week with their class only.
No "Walk-in" Traffic will be allowed in the library.
Books will be quarantined for 4 days after being returned. We will not be checking in books until the quarantine is up.
Students may only check out one book at a time.
All books will be returned prior to Christmas break. No books will be going home over break.
Students will wash their hands before entering and exiting the library.
Masks will be worn at all times while in the library.
All surfaces will be wiped down best as possible between each class.

LOST or DAMAGED BOOK?
At the end of each quarter, a lost book notice will go home with students. It will provide the title, picture, and price of the book on it.
If a book is lost or damaged it must be paid through our Library account. If you know a book is lost or damaged, please communicate that with Mrs. Bennaka (@bennakal@smithville.k12.mo.us) as soon as possible.
Payment is refundable if a lost book is found and returned on or before the last day of the current school year. If a student is missing one book they will only be able to check out one book until the other is paid for or returned. IF a child has not returned two or more books they will not be allowed to check out library materials.
CLASS VISITS
Students visit the Library on a 5-day rotation with their class. Students will check out a book and receive a library lesson each week. In addition, students may visit the library during open library hours if approved by the classroom teacher.

Kindergarten- 1 Book first semester 2 books second semester
1st Grade- 2 Books
2nd- 6th Grade- 2 Books
