Coach Clemons is in his first year at the helm of the Tigers, but is no stranger to the program. Coach Clemons played from 1985 to 1986 and was part of 1 quarterfinal team and 2 semi-final teams. Coach Clemons went on to play at Cumberland University, after graduation Coach Clemons spent two years serving as an assistant and Macon County and Lebanon High School before returning to Gordonsville in 1996. He has since served as an offensive line coach and offensive coordinator throughout the years. Coach Clemons coached on 4 quarterfinal teams, 2 semi-final teams, and 1 State Championship Team.

Tigers claimed the Region 4A Championship after posting an undefeated Region slate and an 8-2 overall record for the regular season. Since the inception of the new Region 4A the Tigers have rolled to an impressive 12-0 region record.

The Tigers claimed the #1 seed for the play-offs and home field advantage throughout. The Tigers took care of the Sale Creek in the first round by a score of 30-0, setting up a match-up of an old play-off rival in South Pitsburgh.

The two schools had not met since 2012, but historically this has been one of the biggest post-season rivalries around. The Tigers took a 7-0 lead into half, but the Pirates turned it around in the second half rallying for 27 points taking a 27-14 victory and ending the Tigers season.
