Hello!! My name is Lesli Smith and I am excited to get the 2026-27 school year started. I am in my 27th year of teaching. I have taught 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades during my tenure at NMS. I have been All 27 years have been at NMS. To say I am blessed is an understatement. I am married to my wonderful husband Barry of 22 years and have 2 boys- Tucker a sophomore in college pursuing to be a veterinarian and a 7th grader Kanon at GHS. We love spending time together on our Angus farm. In my free time I also coach basketball for GHS. I am looking foward to meeting all those smiling little faces and getting this year started.
My role in the school is Literacy Leader. I administer, along with my EA's, all the Aimsweb testing. We test 3 times a year: the beginning of school to see where your student is at academically, at Christmas and again at the end of the year. This testing gives us insight on whether your child may need some extra interventions in the classroom.
