Welcome to Mr. Taylor's 7th and 8th grade classes!!!
Hello! My name is Bobby Taylor, and I am excited to be teaching 7th and 8th grade Math and Science at Union Heights School. This is my third year teaching at UHS, and I am proud to be a former Union Heights student myself. I attended Smith County High School (SCHS), where I graduated before earning my Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Tennessee Technological University. I am currently continuing my education through the Educator Preparation Program at the University of Tennessee.
Math and science have always been my favorite subjects because they challenge us to think critically, solve problems, and better understand the world around us. My goal is to help every student build confidence, develop a love of learning, and achieve their personal and academic goals.
In addition to teaching, I serve as the UHS boys basketball coach. Coaching has reinforced my belief in the importance of teamwork, perseverance, discipline, and encouraging others to reach their full potential—qualities I strive to bring into my classroom every day.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family. I have one daughter who attends Smith County High School. In my free time, I enjoy playing basketball, riding jet skis, and cheering on my favorite sports teams. Go Redcoats! Go Owls! Go Vols! Titan Up! Go Preds! Go Cards!
I look forward to partnering with students and families to make this a successful, engaging, and rewarding school year!
