Our team is committed to providing a supportive, inclusive learning environment where every student has the opportunity to succeed academically, socially, and behaviorally. We work closely with general education teachers, families, and staff to ensure students receive the individualized support and accommodations outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Students receive services through a variety of settings, including inclusion classrooms, small-group instruction, and individualized support tailored to their unique strengths and needs. Our goal is to help students develop confidence, strengthen essential academic and life skills, increase independence, and reach their full potential.
We believe that every student can achieve success when provided with the right support, encouragement, and opportunities to grow. We look forward to partnering with students, families, and our school community to make this a positive and successful school year for everyone.
About me
My name is Kayla Mason, and I am a Special Education Paraprofessional at Smith County High School. This is my third year serving our students, and I truly enjoy helping them grow both academically and personally.
Outside of school, I am a proud single mom to my two amazing daughters, Chloe (13) and Hadley (3), who are my entire world. They inspire me every day to work hard, continue learning, and be the best version of myself.
I am also currently pursuing my bachelor's degree in Special Education. Furthering my education allows me to better serve my students and continue growing in the field that I am so passionate about.
I believe every student has unique strengths and the ability to succeed when given the right support, encouragement, and opportunities. I look forward to building positive relationships with students and families and helping make this a successful school year!
