Some of my classroom rules
You can play an important role in supporting your child’s learning at home. Here are some helpful tips:
Check Google Classroom regularly for updates, assignments, and my IXL recommendations, which are tailored to reinforce what we cover in class. Please use Clever to sign in.
Practice Spanish together when possible. For example, encourage your child to share what they’ve learned, label household items in Spanish, or practice simple phrases.
Utilize the Duolingo app, which offers a fantastic free Spanish program. Just 5 to 10 minutes of daily practice can make a significant difference in their progress.
Change the language settings on a cartoons, shows, or movies your child already enjoys to Spanish and use English subtitles. This helps them hear proper pronunciation in a fun and familiar context.
Sing along to Spanish songs, listen to Spanish podcasts for kids, or read bilingual books together to increase exposure to the language in a low-pressure setting.
Encourage your child to teach you! Teaching someone else is an excellent way for them to solidify their own understanding.
By integrating Spanish into daily activities, you can help your child develop confidence and fluency over time. Thank you for partnering with me to make this a meaningful learning experience for your child.
