We will have homework Monday – Thursday. Each night your child will have a reading homework and may also have math. The homework should not take more than about 15 minutes to complete. Your child’s homework will coincide with whatever was taught/learned that day. If you have questions on how to complete the homework look at their school work and it should have an example of what is being asked. Homework is to be returned the following day.
This year we may have some virtual homework in preparation for the possibility of virtual schooling.
Students will be assessed periodically throughout the Nine Weeks in all subjects.
We will have Math Lesson tests when we complete a Lesson . We will have Reading Unit tests upon the completion of each unit. We will periodically have phonogram quizzes, both oral and written. Around mid-year we will have weekly spelling tests.
At the end of each Nine Weeks students will be assessed on the information covered. The results of this assessment along with the tests given throughout the nine weeks will determine our child’s Report Card grade. We do not have “alphabetized grades” in Kindergarten. Instead students receive either “S” Satisfactory, “I” Improvement, or “N” Needs Improvement.
