Welcome Back!
This is our class web page, in which you will find important dates, valuable class information, schedule of events for the classroom, homework assignments and due dates. If you for any reason are going to be absent, be sure to login to google classrom and view the material for that day. I try and upload a copy of the assignments daily.
About the Teacher
I am so excited to be a part of Saint Mark Catholic School. As a parishioner of St. Mark Catholic Church for over 15 years, I am so blessed to be sharing my talents with you! I am a mom of 4 beautiful children. I graduated from UNCW with a bachelor's degree in Mathematics in 2003. I was a member of the UNCW collegiate volleyball team, and I enjoy playing sports/coaching with my kiddos. I continued my education by attending UNCW, ECU online, and Harvard Online to become a dual certified math teacher in grades 6-9, and 9-12. This is my 11th year teaching and my 6th year here at St. Mark. In my previous experience, I taught at Laney and New Hanover High School, as well as teaching virtually for the North Carolina Virtual Public Schools. I enjoy the beach and spending time with my family. I look forward to a very challenging, engaging, and exciting year with you. I know that we will have a super year with hard work, determination, and a great attitude. My goal for this class is to equip students with the necessary Math skills to succeed and persevere in high school and beyond!.
Supplies: 8th grade: It is REALLY important that your child has a Ti-84 Plus or a TI-84 Plus CE calculator and a 3 subject notebook. Glue sticks/coloring supplies and scissors. We use them EVERY DAY!
Math 1 and Math 2 classes it is a "please make sure you have it by Monday". We work with it everyday and I teach them how to use it.
For Math 7x and M8: We do use it quite often but the features for graphing etc we probably won't get to until the 3rd/4 week of school. Your child will use this calculator throught their ENTIRE high school math classes. So it's a GREAT investment!
