Homecoming 2026

Homecoming is a big event for Great Mills High School available to all Grades! However, you can’t go if you have any suspensions from school. This year's HOCO theme for 2026 is Story in the Stars!

There is always a spirit week during the week of HOCO where students dress out to earn points for their grade. Homecoming is on October 24 so the spirit week is always the week before HOCO and the pep rally and the game are on the same day but football starts at 6pm and the pep rally lasts from 7th and 8th period (1:10 - 2:45)

Monday 10/19 is Sleeping under the stars so dress up in PJ’s! Tuesday 10/20 is Starlight spectacle so that means you wear glitter, sequins, or anything shiny in general. Wednesday is Decades day or twin day so try finding someone to twin with find a decade to dress from or you can do both! Thursday is Sun vs moon so Underclassmen (Freshman and Sophomores) get to wear yellow, orange and white, while upperclassmen (Juniors and Seniors) dress up in black, blue, and purple, then for Friday is Color Wars! As always Freshmen wear green, Sophomores wear yellow or gold, Juniors wear white, and Seniors wear black. The winning grade for the pep rally gets to hold the spirit stick!l

There is also hall decorating if you want to support your class! This can be a good source for community service hours especially if you are running for Homecoming Court. To run for Homecoming Court you need 10 hours of community service. You need to help with hall decorating but you can also get other hours from other activities like sports or helping out with ROTC and more!

There are titles for homecoming court such as Lord or Lady for Freshmen and Prince or Princess for Sophomores, Jester can be for Juniors and Seniors. Then there is Duke or Duchess for Juniors, lastly is King or Queen for Seniors. To apply for these positions you need 10 hours of community service for the school with hall decorating, have a good attendance, and have no ISI or Suspensions.

Then lastly, the Homecoming Dance on Saturday, October 24. During HOCO you can access food vans outside the health room area. There is also a dj to play incredible music and a photo booth for you to take pictures alongside your friends or you can do it on your own by your choice You also can’t have any isi time or suspension alongside debt if you want to attend HOCO.

Hope you enjoy this year's HOCO Great Mills!
