Chopticon’s sports teams achieved notable success this month, with the JV and varsity girls’ basketball teams securing wins and the varsity boys’ team triumphing in a triple overtime thriller. Indoor track athletes excelled at the SMAC meet, while the swim team showed strong performances at a winter tri-meet. Wrestling also reported victories.

Basketball Recap:
JV Girls Basketball with a win over Calvert!
JV and V defeated the LHS Raiders in Friday night basketball. What a game! Varsity Braves win in Triple OT 100-93.
On January 15, our Lady Braves defeated McDonough in overtime! Boys Varsity and JV basketball teams earned the win at home.
On Friday, our Lady Braves went on the road to play the Thomas Stone Cougars and won, 41-33. They are 3-0 victories for this week.
Varsity Boys played Thomas Stone at home and stayed on top during the tight contest. Boys also were 3-0 for the week. JV Boys got their WIN in OT

Madison Eberle came in 7th for triple jump.
Girls 4 x 800-4th place Madeline Matthews, Alyssa Robles, Madison Eberle and Laila Gagnon.
Girls distance medley came in 5th-Molly McKay, Laila Gagnon, Ava Williams and Alyssa Robles
Girls and boys indoor track and field competed in a SMAC meet #4 at the PG Complex. Top 8 spots in each event was a scoring position for Chopticon.
Swim:
Braves swim team hosted McDonough and Thomas Stone for a winter break tri-meet. Boys and girls took the top 3 in many events.
