The 2025 spring season for Bravehouse productions is nearing with their upcoming show Shrek the Musical!
This story follows the iconic green ogre Shrek who embarks on a quest to rescue the radiant Princess Fiona. Along the way, Shrek befriends a talkative donkey, confronts the villainous Lord Farquaad, and learns about friendship, love, and self-acceptance. The musical features catchy songs, colorful characters, and themes of embracing differences, looking beyond appearances, and finding true happiness in being who you are.
Bringing our four leads to life are none other than Bravehouse’s very own: Logan Williams as Shrek, Indie Hooven as Donkey, Harleigh Fischer as Princess Fiona, and Hayden Long as Lord Farquaad.
The pit is the group of talented musicians who play the music that the actors sing over. They truly make the musical come alive with scene transitions and an amazing soundtrack that sounds just the real thing! People all over St. Mary’s County have come to help the musical greatly. Cori, a student from Great Mills High School, Mr. Karnbach, a teacher from Esperanza and Spring Ridge Middle School, and many other people outside of Chopticon are volunteering their time to help Chopticon out.
A total of 32 people are participating in the pit and are having a great time. They even renamed themselves the ‘Swamp’ for fun. The only complaint that was reported was the heat that took over the auditorium, but hopefully it cools down in time for the show.
At the time of writing this 600 tickets have already been sold! Don’t wait to get your tickets for April 3rd, 4th, and 5th at 1pm and 7pm shows.
