Note: I am putting these here because students have asked them in the past, this is not a reflection of what will be on quizzes.

Q: How do you make the or symbol with your keyboard? Is OR written with two lowercase Ls or two 1s?

A: Great Question! OR isn't written with either L or 1 but with a bar | , you can find this on the key right above Enter on most keyboards, but you will probably have to press shift to make it come up.

Q: How exactly does this correlate to the coding we're doing now?

A: We haven't quite gotten to the kind of code that needs truth tables yet. We will see these symbols first in If Statements and later in Loops.

Q: Can the truth table take a third variable other than x and y and still use the same statements?

A: Yes. You can have many different variables in a truth table but we try to avoid having too many options because they get a bit big.

Q: What if you have two sets of parenthesis?

A: That is not a problem, you may have more than two sets of parenthesis by the time you are done and you handle them just like in math, figure out the truth value inside the parentheses first and go from there.
