Your child has enrolled in the FIRST NATION MÉTIS INUTI Student Champions Club. Our goal is to educate, inspire, and give a voice to students who identify as FNMI and those non FNMI who are interested in learning about Canada's history and Culture of our People. Through teachings, drama, danse, the arts and music students will use their talents to share our stories with the school and community. We meet every Wednesday during first snack and recess. This is an in-school club for extra-curricular events. I am Mme Denis, I am First Nation from Nipissing and my Ojibway name is Nau-Nookshkaahns.

To practice at home download the page below for lyrics to drumming song in Ojibway and select the CD on website then go to "Four Directions " song by the Medicine Wheel Spirit Singers. Students will be learning the rhythm and to sing their direction part. Grades 5-8 will be playing drums and grades 3-4 will be playing shakers (made of water bottles and corn). Each direction group/colour also has a verse from the poem to learn by heart. PLEASE PRACTICE AT HOME.
