On December 5, 2024, SmartClass students set off on an unforgettable bus ride to Subic Bay. The adventure kicked off with excitement as we explored the wonders of Funtastic Park, followed by an awe-inspiring journey into the heart of Mother Nature at Ocean Adventure.
The field trip began with a well-planned stopover, giving students a chance to rest, gear up for the journey, and stock up on food and drinks for the road ahead. Since participants were informed in advance about the limited availability of refreshments at the destinations, this break ensured everyone was ready and well-prepared for the long ride ahead.
Afterward was an hour-long ride to Funtastic Park. During the ride, students and PLAs were able to spend quality time together. Some even chatted with newfound friends and found surprising common interests. As the bus rolled along, students eagerly snapped breathtaking views through their cameras, while others savored tasty snacks. The excitement only grew upon arriving at the park, where they dived into thrilling activities—navigating the mind-bending mirror maze, getting delightfully lost in the dark room, uncovering fascinating scientific trivia, desperately finding a way out of the garden maze, and so much more! Boarding the bus yet again, the vehicle parked outside Ocean Adventure, and it was an opportunity for students and PLAs to fuel up with lunch before their next thrilling adventure.

Despite melting under the scorching heat, excitement filled the air as students lined up at the entrance to Ocean Adventure! Entering the place, students delighted in a series of shows, showcasing the wonders and significance of the environment. From an extravagantly graceful dolphin show, a nerve-wracking balancing act, learning the art of survival, and the behavior of wild forest animals. One must also not forget the wonderful experience of a sea lion showing elegant and precise control on both slippery surfaces and water.
After watching all the shows, the students boarded their assigned buses. The original plan was to make a final stop at a Duty-Free store, but due to time constraints, the last stop was instead at a large bus park surrounded by several eateries. Given an hour to find dinner, many students walked farther to secure their meals due to the crowd. They then gathered to enjoy their evening feast. As the bus ride home progressed, students decided to do a karaoke session to pass the time. Noah Daniel Bondoc of G10 sang the first 5 minutes of Albuquerque by Weird Al. The mic was passed around the elementary section, and the rest of the karaoke session was filled with amazing voices! The karaoke ended, and it was time to hit the hay. And so, the trip ended with everyone having a great time creating new memories, forming new friendships, and having an astounding day on a field trip.
