Fresh from their Moving Up and Recognition Ceremony earlier that day, junior high homeschoolers took center stage at the NTC Social Hall on July 5, 2025, from 5 PM to 9 PM. With the theme “Lights, Camera, Confidence!”, Grades 7–10 students swapped their royal blue attire and stoles for glamorous outfits, walking the red carpet, striking poses for the paparazzi, and dancing the night away.
Students mingled with fellow homeschoolers as they got settled into the venue. They made their way to their tables, as others lined up for the photobooth and took delight in the provided snacks at the snack bar. As everyone settled in, the hosts, including Filipino SME Ms. Belle and Sir. Matthew De Castro, a former Social Studies SME, excitedly announced the official start of the event.
As the music played and the lights dimmed, the homeschoolers of junior high settled into an evening filled with excitement and curiosity. The energy in the NTC Social Hall was bright and welcoming as students joined the activities lined up for the night. From posing at the photo booth to walking down the red carpet, everyone had a chance to enjoy the spotlight in their own way.
For Rachel Rose Siquete, the night was about more than just dressing up. “Though being in a social event scares me, getting out of my comfort zone was enjoyable and freeing,” she shared. She especially enjoyed meeting students from other grade levels, and one person in particular stood out to her. “I got to meet new people and interact with another grade level, who was SOO pretty!” she added with a laugh. Her favorite part of the night was the group dancing, which brought everyone together in a fun and energetic way.
Cameron Joseph Sell also had his share of fun. “It was very fun doing the catwalk on the red carpet,” he said. One of the most memorable parts for him was receiving an award for his catwalk performance. “I was so shocked and didn’t think I’d get one,” he said. He also loved the 3D photoshoot, which gave him and his classmates the chance to try out unique and creative poses. Cameron wore a black suit and sunglasses for most of the night, joking that many people called him part of the “Men in Black,” especially when his friend Euan wore sunglasses too.
Johann Raphael Padero went with a more low-key style. “I just opted for something simple but also eye-catching,” he said. His outfit was a light pink suit inspired by Ryan Gosling’s Barbie red carpet looks. While many enjoyed the dancing and awards, Johann found joy in spending time with friends. “I really enjoyed just sitting at my table and chatting and joking around,” he said. “So I guess my main highlight was the friends I made along the way.” Anton Luis Padero shared that he enjoyed participating in the ice breakers, such as the game “Who’s Most Likely To…” as he and his friends mostly pointed at Joe (Johann Padero). He also added that in the scene partner photobooth activity he “Fortunately got matched up with someone I know right away”.
Noah Daniel Bondoc made history as the first back-to-back "Face of the Night" winner, commanding attention with his sharp Mission Impossible-esque stance in a sleek black tuxedo. His effortless charisma once again earned him the title, proving his undeniable presence.
Beside him, Lian Kaleigh Monsalud shone just as brightly, taking home the same honor in a timeless Hollywood-inspired ensemble—a long satin black gown with a fur shawl, satin gloves, and elegant jewelry. Her side-parted curls and smokey eye makeup completed the dazzling Old Hollywood transformation. "At first, I was shocked—so shocked that I had to make sure they were really calling my name," Lian admitted with a laugh.
Meanwhile, the royal titles went to Hannah Shanelle, crowned Prom Queen, and Justin Mclaire Gramtam, who took the throne as Prom King.
Hannah stunned in a bold red corset gown with a thigh-high slit, feather sleeves, and intricate beading, embodying confidence and grace. "I didn’t think I’d win any award that night," she shared, "but celebrating with my friends made it even more special." Justin, her counterpart, looked every bit the fairytale prince in a sparkling blue suit, his radiant smile lighting up the room.
The evening was a true celebration of charm, style, and unforgettable achievements—proving that this year’s winners were more than deserving of their crowns.
Later in the evening, Dave Cuyler Cruz and Brianna Elise Aguilar were also voted for the Best Movie Scene Pose, as they perfectly recreated the iconic pose from Twilight, capturing the same romantic intensity as Edward and Bella.
As the dance segment took place, Brianna and Dave took the honor—after being told by almost everyone to dance—to be the first pair to grace the dance floor. With them slow dancing to the sweet melodies sung by Justine Mclaire, more pairs slowly made their way to the dance floor, and the vibe in the air was magical.
For returning alumni like Lara Faller, the event brought back meaningful memories. “It felt nostalgic because it reminded me of prom ‘24,” she said. She missed seeing some of her old classmates and SMEs, but was happy to meet new people too. “The food was bomb, the vibe was cool, and the activities were very interactive and creative,” she shared. “Overall, I loved it.”
As the night drew to a close, the room buzzed with laughter, shared stories, and a sense of connection that lingered long after the music faded. A Night to Remember: The Homeschooler’s Ball 2025 lived up to its name, leaving each student with unforgettable memories and new friendships. Whether it was walking the red carpet, dancing under the lights, or simply enjoying each other’s company, every homeschooler found something to smile about. It was a celebration not just of style and confidence, but of the vibrant community that brought everyone together for one truly special night.
