Who is eligible to apply and participate?

Freshman or Sophomore undergraduate students. Juniors and Seniors are welcome to apply, but will have to complete a waiver request.


What is the cost of the program?

There is no cost to apply or participate in the program. Housing, some meals, and some transportation costs are covered by the program. Each student will receive a 1,000 stipend to assist with personal expenses.


Where will I live?

PLUS students will live in a dorm on the the Saint Louis University main campus. Students may be assigned a roommate.

How much of a time commitment will the program require?

The PLUS program is a four-week residential program. Students should expect to be in class or participating in planned program activities for 8 hours per day (typically 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.). Homework is often assigned for the two courses in the program. Make-up courses, services projects and other group activities may be planned for the weekends.


Is it possible to work or take classes and successfully complete the program?

The PLUS program is a carefully designed educational program that requires full participation by all participants. Students are offered stipends to ensure that they are able to fully participate in the program. Participants in the program are not expected to have outside employment, take courses or engage in any other activity that will affect their participation.


What should I expect?

The PLUS program is designed to be rigorous and intensive. In many ways, the program simulates the life of a graduate or professional student. Participants are expected to attend all courses, and participate in all workshops, activities and events during the PLUS Program. Because of the time commitment, course work or employment outside of the program is highly discouraged.


Who should I ask to complete my Recommendation Form?

You should choose recommenders who can talk about your interest in law or pursuing a graduate education, your general academic strengths and leadership skills, and the your specific aptitude and potential to develop the skills and competencies necessary to succeed in the program. When should I apply?

The application deadline is April 14, 2018 (Priority review will be given to applications completed by March 31, 2018). We strongly encourage you to apply as early as possible.


When will decisions be released?

Most applicants will be notified of their status by May 1, 2018.


What is the dress code?

The general dress code for the program is casual. Approximately 2 to 3 times per week PLUS students will visit the courts and other professional settings. For these occasions, students are required to wear professional attire. Students will be given notice when to wear casual and business attire.


Will I have assignments outside of class?

Yes. Students will receive assignments for the two law course and for specific modules, workshops, and/or presentations. These assignments may be individual or collaborative.


Is parking available if I bring a car?

Yes, students who wish to bring a vehicle can have their local transportation costs applied to their parking fees. The balance of the parking costs is approximately $90.
