Do you want to create engaging interactive activities for your students?
The Distributed Open Education Network (Doenet) is an open, data-driven educational technology platform that provides students with interactive learning. This hands-on workshop will introduce participants to the core features of Doenet, including answer checking, graphing, and randomization. Participants will work on designing their own classroom-ready learning activity, with opportunities for feedback and Q&A throughout the day. By the end of the workshop, each participant will leave with an interactive activity they can implement in their own courses.
Facilitators:
Anurag Katyal, Professor I, Palm Beach State College
Authored content for Intermediate Algebra and mathematical puzzles using Doenet.
Virginia Mae, Instructional Designer, University of Minnesota
Authored content for Precalculus and Calculus using Doenet and helped instructors to build their own content.
Duane Nykamp, Associate Professor, University of Minnesota
Founded Doenet and authored content for Biocalculus using Doenet.
Özlem Uğurlu, Assistant Professor, Saint Louis University
Authored content for Discrete Mathematics and Calculus I using Doenet.
Participants are expected to create a free account on Doenet - beta.doenet.org and complete the short tutorial before the workshop.
