Reflection in Action / RIA Sample Syllabi and Experiences
Examples of Reflection-in-Action experiences within a course setting include, but are not limited to:
Service-learning (i.e. students engaging in service work with a community partner and integrating course concepts in reflecting on what was learned)
Clinicals, practicums and field experiences (e.g. Inter-professional education, Nursing rotations, student teaching, etc.)
Internships where students receive academic credit
Certain courses taken with study abroad programs (i.e. Casa Belize)

Examples of Reflection-in-Action experiences not connected to a course include, but are not limited to:
Internships approved by the Office of Career Services
Service or immersion experiences facilitated at least in part by faculty/staff members (note: these can be weekend or week long, over breaks, etc.)
Employment through the Community Service Federal Work Study Program
General community engagement through an existing program or department (i.e. Center for Service and Community Engagement) that has an "instructor of record"
