[Project Proposal]
We are trying to design a mechanical arm/hand that has moving ligaments for five fingers and is worn like a glove over the existing hand. It should be able to pick up items like an egg with enough mechanical precision not to break the egg and place it in a different location from where it was picked up safely. The control system is comprised of voice commands given to Amazon Alexa which will relay the information over WiFi to the arm (About Device). The signals will tell the fingers on the hand to open and close.
This chart is a projection of our progress over the next semester. It lists responsibilities of each member over a timeline from August 2018 to April 2019.
