The need for MRI scans has been increasing in recent years due to a broader variety of protocols or the need for consistent patient health monitoring. However, the high demand for MRI scans further surpasses the MRI staffing, which introduces the possibility of remote MRI scanning. This study examines the benefits and concerns of remote MRI scanning for all parties involved: the patient, the company, and the technologists. The MRI safety manual that is approved by the American College of Radiology (ACR) with the purpose to implement and expand patient safety were analyzed as one of the concerns due to the possible changes of remote scanning. With the limitations of this new innovation for remote MRI scanning, it is strongly encouraged to continue monitoring for future research to validate the kinds of conclusions that can be drawn from this study.
