Closing the Achievement Gap: Study Skills as a Mechanism to Increase Academic Achievement for Low-Income Students

This project lays out a research design to increase student achievement throughout the development of a study skills course. This project corresponds to a summer internship at Cor Jesu Academy with the RISE program, which is a middle school program designed to boost academic achievement for low-income students. This paper will include a literature review, research design and proposal in order to examine how teaching study skills can increase student achievement broadly, especially for students from low-income families.
