Welcome to the Slocum Pre-Kindergarten Program! Pre-K provides a wonderful opportunity for your child to begin learning life long skills, to imagine and to establish friendships, to explore many areas of learning, to learn how to imagine and create, and most of all, love school. In addition to providing your child with stimulating learning activities, we will also work on appropriate behavior at school. We will learn what it means to use self-control, and practice using it. We will develop skills that will help each child be a successful student. Each month we will send out a calendar that tells what we are learning about as well as our special days or events. Please keep this calendar in a place that you can refer to it throughout the month. Please let us know if there are any changes in the way your child goes home. A note in the morning will be very helpful if he or she will be going home in a different way that day. Please include which bus, or the person's name that will be picking up your child. I am so excited to have all my students this year in class. It will be a great year!
