Parent Communication

Hello Room 11 Families!

Thank you for checking out our 4th grade website. This is my seventh year of teaching and my fifth year at Bishop's Peak. I feel so grateful to be part of this outstanding community and to be living in beautiful San Luis Obispo.

I graduated from Cal Poly SLO (Go Mustangs!) with a Bachelor of Science in Child Development and a minor in Psychology and Communication Studies. Following graduation, I returned to my hometown in the Bay Area to complete my Teaching Credential and Masters at Dominican University of California, in San Rafael. I taught 5th grade for two years at Coleman Elementary School, the same site I was fortunate to be placed for student teaching. However, I couldn't stay away from "the happiest place in the US" and made my way back to SLO in 2016. I am so excited to be back "SLOme" and more importantly, here at Bishop's Peak teaching 4th grade (again!).

I have always valued education and have a true passion for teaching. I believe in meeting each child's needs in the classroom (both virtually and in person), and I acknowledge this may not look the same for every student. My goals as a teacher include creating a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment; as well as valuing and celebrating diversity and each student's cultural background. I am looking forward to getting to know you and your child better and to making this a successful year for our class!

Sincerely,

Jenna Latino (Mrs. Latino)
