Kerr McCallum discusses fifth year pupil Jennifer Tait's love for all things baking.
When fifth-year pupil Jennifer Tait isn’t acting her heart out in drama class, analysing and understanding the deeper meaning of poems and fiction in English class, or reading books as a way to escape to new worlds full of adventure and mystery, she’s at home baking. Jennifer started baking in early November last year and has been obsessed ever since. She used to bake with her sister when they were younger, a heartwarming and fond memory that inspired Jennifer to start baking again.
“I love baking because it’s an escape from the stress and worry of school. It allows me to relax and be in my own little world where I am able to make something that can share my love with my friends.”
Jennifer sells her baking at school on Fridays to her friends and classmates; she wants to create something that her friends and family can enjoy, and she definitely achieves that with her delicious baked goods. Although she doesn’t want to pursue it as a career, Jennifer sees baking as an enjoyable hobby that she can do for years to come.
Jennifer’s love and passion for baking is much more than just a hobby; it’s a way for her to express herself, de-stress, and spread joy to those around her. Whether she is acting, analysing literature, reading her favourite books, or making even more amazing baked treats, her creativity shines through in everything that she does. Make sure you find Jennifer on a Friday to try one of her baked goods, while stocks last!
