Communication Support Base
The Communication Support Base shares information with us about the 'Success Looks Different Awards' competition they have entered and even gives us a sneak peek at one of their entries.
The pupils in the Communication Support Base have been busy preparing for their entry into the 'Success Looks Different Awards' organised by Children in Scotland. This competition invites schools to show how they celebrate the success of their pupils who, for different reasons, need some support with their learning. The CSB entry includes photos, written testimonials, poetry and art work created by our pupils which show what success looks like in our school. We will find out in the new year if we are winners in this competition but with all this success, we are winners already!

This Is Me
Neurodiverse, a unique way to be
Autism, Dyslexia and ADHD
Using our brains in a different way
Dealing with challenges, day by day
Being the person we're expected to be
Conforming to the norms of society
Masking our emotions, prone to a shout
Sometimes it's best to let it all out
People can be cruel and sometimes unkind
Lacking understanding of the neurodiverse mind
Following a routine is what we do best
Social interaction puts us to the test
But please do remember to praise and encourage
With love and support, we will develop and flourish
We all share the world with a part to play
I may be autistic, but I was born this way
