Your choice of theme is largely up to you, however you must ensure that whatever you choose, your theme allows the opportunity for you to:
Communicate a clear project purpose - and write a brief outlining this
Create eight individual photoshoots, each with their own take on the overall theme
Be creative and explore purpose and composition differently in each shoot
Access locations, props or models as required
Deliver the entire project within the time frame
You should begin by selecting an overarching theme before focussing in more closely. You have two options.
A particular style, genre or subject
A key word, context or issue linking different genres
Architectural Photography
Portarit Photography
Urban Photography
Rural Landscape Photography
Food Photography
Sports Photography
Vintage
Teen Life
Abstract Patterns
Music
Love
Pride
Tell a Story | Challenge Thinking | Explore Aesthetics
Now you have selected your overarching theme, you need to focus your project with a purpose.
Combining your theme with a unique purpose will help clarify your project.
For example, if Music is the overarching theme, the purpose could be,
Telling the story of life as a concert pianist.
You now need to consider an effective title for your project.
This should hook the curiosity and interest of potential viewers.
Taking our example above, the title could be;
Life in Music
The Story of a Concert Pianist
