Welcome to Duncanrig Secondary School

Head Teacher’s Welcome

I am delighted to welcome you to Duncanrig Secondary School’s new website; I hope you find it useful and informative.

Duncanrig Secondary School is a true comprehensive school serving a community of over 1700 young people. We are part of the Duncanrig Learning Community, which comprises Duncanrig Secondary School, our nine associated primary schools, Early Years partners, and bases that provide specialist additional services. Within our school, we also have a supported learning provision for young people with additional support needs.

South Lanarkshire Council’s vision, as set out in the Council’s Plan Connect, is to improve the quality of life for all in South Lanarkshire. At Duncanrig Secondary School, we aim to work together to build positive futures for all through our key values of Ambition, Respect and Community, in an inclusive and supportive environment. We set high expectations across our school community and strive for excellence through high quality learning and teaching.

We are very proud of our young people and as a community we work together to provide a wide range of learning opportunities both inside and outside the classroom. We want all our young people to have the opportunities to develop the skills, attributes and knowledge to succeed now and in the future.

We are proud to work with a range of partners to support our young people and provide a range of rich experiences. One of our partnerships which is crucial to the success of our school is the partnership with our parents and carers. We aim to have effective and regular communication with parents/carers, and we have an active and supportive Parent Council. Positive relationships are vital to ensure we met the needs of all of our young people, and we welcome and encourage all parent/carer communication.

If you would like additional information or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at the school.
