Monthly Newletter

December

During the month of December, we will continue to learn about our favorite fairytales including The Three Little Pigs, The Gingerbread Man and The Elves and the Shoemaker. This year we are partnering with the Jonnycake Center to support our families in need for the holiday season. The center is collecting gift cards to Walmart, Wakefield Mall stores, Visa/Mastercard, Marshalls and Game Stop. Please bring the gift cards to SKIP on or before December 5th or you can bring them to the Jonnycake Center, 1231 Kingstown Road, Peace Dale by December 10th.

We really appreciate all of your support! We hope you have a wonderful holiday!

Mrs. Goggin & Ms. Patty

Learning Tip

In the classroom, we have been learning to count to 12 in the AM and to 30 in the PM. Some ideas on how to work on this at home is to write out the numbers and have your child point to each number and count. This will work on their number recognition and one-to-one correspondence. To make it fun, they can count in different ways including counting like a mouse (high pitched voice) or like a superhero (deep voice). They can also count while doing an action like jumping or clapping their hands. They also can count items in your home including food or toys. Finally counting can be done anywhere; in the car or at the grocery store. Have fun with it and if they can count to 12 or 30 then have them count higher and higher! J

Reminders!

Just as a reminder please have your child bring in a warm coat, hat and mittens for our outdoor time. Thank you!!

Scholastic Book orders are due on December 6th

Pajama Day will be on Wednesday, December 20th. We invite the children to come to school in their pajamas. They can wear sneakers with their pajamas just in case we go outside.
