ST KEVIN'S SCHOOL RULES Be Safe Be Responsible Be Respectful

Principal's Message

Dear Parents & Friends,

Yesterday, despite the inclement weather, we were able to head off to Churchill National Park for another whole school excursion. It was a great reminder of how important these out of classroom learning experiences are for our children. Watching students from different year levels engaging in conversation, play and supporting each other is a very rewarding experience for us as teachers. A very big thank you to Mrs. Gonzales and her husband Joe who shared their experience, passion and great knowledge about our precious National Parks in a very engaging way. As you may have seen from the Facebook posts, a simulated search and rescue mission was created and our children had to use maps and communicate via radio to find a missing plane and it's survivors. I am sure next time our children hear or see a situation like this on the news or radio, they will have a much more informed idea about what is involved. A great real life learning experience.

Student Reports

Student reports are now available through the Parent Portal and you will have received an email with instructions and details regarding this today. A reminder that Bookings for the Parent and Teacher Meetings can be made through this link, School Interviews Online and I would ask that this is done before Monday as we need to print out timetables for teachers.

OHSC (Out of Hours School Care)

Next week sees the end of term, meaning a 1pm finish. Please let Bek in OSHC know if you will require care asap.

Bunning's BBQ and Cake Stall

We are very lucky to have secured a date to run a fundraising BBQ and cake stall at Bunning's Moorabbin on Sunday 28 July.

These fundraisers always enable us to raise at least $1500 for the school. This year all money raised will be going to our OHSC program.

As always we can't run these events without the help of parents, and we really need your support in making this a successful fundraiser.

Rosters are up on the school noticeboard for both the BBQ and the cake stall. Please sign up!

Shifts are either two hours for the BBQ or 1.5 hours for the cake stall.

We will also need cake bakers a few days prior to the event to make some goodies to sell. If you can assist with this or would like to be added to any of the rosters please email ohsc@skormond.catholic.edu.au

OHSC July School Holiday Program

Don't forget to book for the July school holiday program. We have heaps of exciting activities planned to keep the kids busy and engaged in the holidays.

We require bookings to be made no later than Wednesday 26 June to run some days so please book in now via the OHSC bookings page on the website or email ohsc@skormond.catholic.edu.au

Italian News & Update

Dear Parents,

On Friday 26th of July we are having a special Italian lunch for all students and staff.

We would also like to invite any parents or grandparents who are available, to come and join us for this event. For lunch we will be serving homemade gnocchi followed by gelato for dessert.

Students are asked to come to school dressed in the Italian colours or something Italian. The day will begin with a gnocchi making demonstration followed by a class activity.

If you are available for this event please complete the RSVP form by Friday 28th June.

The cost of the lunch is $7 per person.

Hope to see you all

Egg Cartons

Thank you to all those families who have dropped off egg cartons. We still require more so if you can keep bringing them in that would be great.

Late Arrival

I have still been noticing a few late arrivals so I ask that all parents please be aware that the bell to commence the school day is at 8-50 am. We have many students arriving late each day and this can be very disruptive to the classroom routine as children often miss important information.
