Scheduling for the 2018-2019 Year!

  • Alert: Rough Draft Schedules will be released during 7th period on June 7th. Spare copies are also available at the front desk. Gunderson High School is committed to preparing you for college. Take advantage. A high SAT score can help you get into the college of your choice. Due to constraints such as staffing, number of sections, or limited seats available, not all course selections can be accommodated, but we will do our best to give students their first or second choices. Requests for particular periods or teachers, however, cannot be filled. The deadline to submit a schedule change request is June 15th.

$100 Reward! Do you want to earn $100? How about $100 for every AP test you pass in the 2018-2019 school year? Pass four AP tests in 2019 and earn $400. This is due to our partnership with NMSI and is limited to AP courses in the sciences, mathematics, English, and Computer Science. Support and study sessions will be provided throughout the year. The following are included in the reward program:

  • AP Physics
  • AP Environmental Science
  • AP Calculus AB
  • AP Calculus BC
  • AP Statistics
  • AP Literature
  • AP Language
  • AP Computer Science

Less than 8 Option. To be scheduled for less than 8 courses, Juniors and Seniors must submit a "Less than 6" permission form, signed by their guardian by February 23, 2018. If this form was not submitted, a full schedule of 8 periods will be scheduled for '18-'19. (Freshmen and sophomores cannot be scheduled for less than 8.)

TA. Only Juniors and Seniors can TA for a teacher, counselor or administrator. A TA permission form must be signed by the student, the parent, and the credentialed staff member and submitted to Ms. Hayden. A student cannot have more than one TA position.

GLC's. Grizzly Learning Centers are required for all students during brown period 7 in 2018-2019. Gold Day GLC's are also required of sophomores and freshmen. For all other grade levels, gold day GLC's are optional.

Dates: June 11 – June 28

Days: Mondays through Thursdays

Time: 8:00am – 1:30pm

Brunch: 10:00am – 10:25am (free meal provided by the cafeteria)

Summer school Enrollment

  • Students were alerted via a letter given during class as to their summer school enrollment. However enrollment is dependent on second semester grades and can change. Students who do not show for the first day of Summer school will be dropped to make room for students who waitlist.
  • Students who've not yet enrolled in summer school, may doe so on Monday, June 11th at 7:45 am at the front desk for courses that have seats available.
  • The number of available seats will be known at 8:20 am.

Summer School Rules

  • Only one day of summer school can be missed. If a student is absent a second day, he/she will unfortunately be unable to earn summer school credits and will be dropped. Five tardies equal one absence.
  • A major infraction or three minor infractions are also cause for a drop.

Scheduling Priority:

  • First priority is given to students needing credit recovery to graduate
    • Within this grouping, Juniors are given priority.
    • Within this grouping, the earliest online registration timestamps are given priority.
  • Second priority is given to students wishing to improve their grade in a course (A-G requirements)
    • Within this grouping, Juniors are given priority.
    • Within this grouping, the earliest online registration timestamps are given priority.
