The only semester 2 schedule change requests that will be considered are:

  • Credit recovery course was needed only for 1st semester
  • Another credit recovery course is needed for 2nd semester

No other courses can be dropped, added or changed.

Scheduling for the Second Semester

Only schedule changes necessary for graduation will be made. If you need a schedule change due to credit recovery (repeated class), please submit a schedule change request. Afterwards, please check your email. You will receive an email response or be called in by your academic counselor within 2 days. If you received a response that your schedule has been changed, your new schedule will be effective for second semester, starting in January.

Due to constraints such as staffing, number of sections, or limited seats available, not all requested changes can be accommodated. Requests for particular periods or teachers also will not be filled. The deadline to drop a course (non-credit recovery course) has also passed.

New Enrollees. If you were just enrolled and don't yet have a Gunderson schedule, please come see either your grade level advisor or Ms. Hayden.

$100 Reward! Do you want to earn $100? How about $100 for every AP test you pass in the 2017-2018 school year? Pass four AP tests in 2018 and earn $400. This is due to our partnership with NMSI and is limited to AP courses in the sciences, mathematics, English, and Computer Science. Support and study sessions will be provided throughout the year. The following are included in the reward program:

  • AP Biology
  • AP Environmental Science
  • AP Calculus AB
  • AP Calculus BC
  • AP Statistics
  • AP Literature
  • AP Language
  • AP Computer Science

Less than 8 Option. To be scheduled for less than 8 courses, Juniors and Seniors must have submit a "Less than 6" permission form, signed by their guardian by March 15th, 2017. If this form was not submitted, a full schedule of 8 periods was scheduled for '17-'18. (Freshmen and sophomores cannot be scheduled for less than 8.)

TA. Only Juniors and Seniors can TA for a teacher, counselor or administrator. A TA permission form must be signed by the student, the parent, and the credentialed staff member and submitted to Ms. Hayden. A student cannot have more than one TA position.

GLC's. Grizzly Learning Centers are required for all students during brown period 7 in 2017-2018. Gold Day GLC's are also required of sophomores. For all other grade levels, gold day GLC's are optional. Freshmen can chooose which gold day study hall they'd like - College Prep, Gold Day GLC, or Guided Studies.
