(My favorite murder, n.d.)
This podcast combines true crime and comedy, which seems like an unlikely combination and yet hosts Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark to such a great job. They discuss different true crime topics each week where each brings a different story to share, and they discuss.
This media can be found on most music streaming platforms such as Spotify. The teen women are adults and therefore sometimes use explicit language. I would consider this podcast as adult-crossover.
I highly recommend this podcast. It was recommended to me by one of the teens that comes into the library. We shared a common enjoyment of true crime and he suggested I listen give this podcast a try. I fell in love. I have been listening every week since I started a few weeks ago. I find myself putting this one instead of music when traveling more than 5 minutes in the car.
One way that a library could implement this podcast into a program would be have a podcast night. This would take planning so that teens would be approved to become and “expert in the field” on a certain topic of true crime case. They would study and research the topic before the program and then when podcast night came along, everyone would get the opportunity to share their research.
