Chapter 18 Online Supplement:
Bernd Becker, MLIS, has been an instructional faculty librarian since 2008. Through live sessions and prerecorded tutorials, he teaches university students how to conduct their research for many areas of the social sciences. He is also an instructor at the San José State University School of Information, where he teaches courses on information literacy and learning.
Quote from webcast:
"So much information is accessed digitally - or at least has a digital component - and people need to know how to effectively use information technology to not only find and access the information that they need but also how to navigate and evaluate it. And these traits of finding, accessing, navigating, and evaluating information are a set of skills a person needs in order to function in our digital environment - and that’s where we come in."
