April 2023: Western Region Center of Excellence IAC to be established at SFSU with SJSU and SDSU as partners through funding from the US Department of Energy.
May 2022: Awarded a grant from the Department of Energy to establish an Industrial Assessment Center at SJSU (news coverage).

Oct 2021: My review paper on carbon capture, sequestration and utilization was accepted for publication in Greenhouse Gases: Science and Technology.
Jul 2021: Our paper on dynamics of multiphase flow of supercritical CO2 and water in porous media was accepted for publication in Frontiers in Water.
Mar 2021: Our paper on segmentation of raw PIV images was accepted for publication in Measurement Science and Technology.
Mar 2021: Attended (virtually) SEMI-THERM conference and presented Guotai's work on modeling of vapor chambers.
Dec 2020: Our paper on flow over permeable beds with biofilm was accepted for publication in Water Resources Research.

Feb 2020: Awarded a grant from California Air Resources Board (CARB) to study carbon utilization technologies.
Dec 2019: Attended 2019 AGU Fall Meeting in San Francisco, where Michaela had an oral presentation on interfacial curvature and capillary pressure in scCO2-water flow in micromodels.
Aug 2019: Moved to San José State University.
May 2019: Attended InterPore 2019 in Valencia, Spain and presented Michaela's poster on interfacial curvature and capillary pressure in scCO2-water flow in micromodels.

Aug 2018: Awarded a grant from NSF to study intermittency in multiphase flow [link].
Jun 2018: New experimental course ENGR 296A - Experimental Methods for Fluids proposed by Dr. Kazemifar and Dr. Poindexter from Civil Engineering department is approved for Fall 2018.
May 2018: Offered "Micromodels for Porous Media Research: Fabrication and Optical Measurement Techniques" short-course at InterPore 2018 together.
Dec 2017: Attended AGU Fall Meeting in New Orleans, organized a session and presented a poster on our work with undergraduate student Ava Hurlock.
