Welcome to the information hub for EdCamp StJoe. We hope you will be able to join us on August 5, 2017 and enjoy a day of learning with and from other educators.


What can you expect from EdCamp StJoe?

EdCamp is a different type of professional learning experience. Here are some ideas of what you can expect.

First of all, plan on having fun! EdCamp is a relaxed PD because it is teachers sharing with teachers. We don't have any extraneous goals other than to help each other improve teaching and learning!

The Sessions

The sessions will be determined in the morning based on the interests of the people who are in the room. Attendees will jot down things they are curious about, and things they want to share with others. Once everyone has an opportunity to do that, the organizers will take a look at the ideas and organize them into rooms/sessions. We expect to have 4 sessions in the day, 3 before lunch and one after lunch.

The Schedule

We will have morning refreshments and a welcome message to get the morning started, then break into sessions. After the third morning session you will have an hour and a half for lunch. St. Joseph does hold the record for the most restaurants on one road so you should be able to find something you like. Following lunch, we will do one more session before we come together as a large group for our Group Selfie, Recap and prizes!!

10:45 - 11:30 Session 3

11:30 - 1:00 Lunch (on your own but St. Joe has MANY restaurants to choose from)

1:00 - 1:45 Session 4

2-2:30 Wrap-up, prizes, group selfie

We will have t-shirts available to order the day of the event. The cost is $10 for standard sizes. Add $2 for 2XL and $3 for 3XL. We will only be able to take cash orders. Thanks.

What should I bring?

Bring your passion for teaching and be prepared to take notes, but that's about it. We will have a collaborative notetaking doc that you can contribute to, and share with others at your school site if you choose to do so. Also, bring a friend! There are still spots available, and nothing helps your learning stick like having a friend to share, discuss, and bounce ideas off of!
